最近，Nikon為宣傳新機D850，邀請了32位來自亞洲、非洲及中東的攝影師試用並分享用後感。不過，32位攝影師全數都是男性，引起女性攝影師強烈不滿。

@Nikon Asia 9月6日在Twitter發佈相關宣傳後，不少女性攝影師留言表示不滿，甚至笑言是否需要陽具才能操作快門：

Seriously, three continents and not one woman could attend? You didn’t try hard enough, @NikonAsia. Disgraceful. How will you make amends?

亦有網民諷刺Nikon以「I’m the difference maker」為宣傳口號，但就在是次活動中連一個異性攝影師也沒有：

事後Nikon回應，表示他們曾經邀請女性攝影師參與活動，可惜她們都未能應邀，並承認在這一方向有所疏忽，感謝大眾的提醒：

不過，Nikon並沒有透露受邀女性攝影師的數目，令人質疑他們沒有盡力，不然為何在亞洲、非洲及中東這麼大地方，竟然連一個女性攝影師也邀請不到？

另外，《時代雜誌》翻查資料，根據Nikon 2016年年度報告，女性只佔公司員工10.6%，並訂下目標期望在2021年前，將女性員工比率提高至25%。

有人站在Nikon一方，認為提出不滿的女性攝影師強詞奪理，亦有人認為，這次的確是Nikon的公關技巧不足，即使受邀女性攝影師未能參與活動，都應該繼續尋找女性攝影師，盡力避免「全男班」情況，是次事件反映攝影行業由男性主導，女性攝影師得到的工作機會與嘉許不足。
